GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS
Agents used for treatment of benign prostatic hypertrophy. Testosterone-5-alpha reductase inhibitors ATC code G04C B01.
Indications to Use:
Treatment and control of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in patients with enlarged prostate gland in order to:
– decrease in the size (regression) of the enlarged gland, improve the urine diversion and reduce the symptoms associated with BPH;
– decrease of risk of acute retention of urine and the need for surgical intervention, including transurethral resection of the prostate of the prostate and prostatectomy.
